Indie Power Systems (IPS) is utilizing its technology and expertise in energy management, including battery charging and battery management, to develop an advanced Vehicle Charging Station. This Vehicle Charging Station is designed to be the most intelligent and efficient in the industry. In fact, IPS expects to transform the traditional Charging Station into a complete integrated Vehicle Charging System allowing the user to control the level and timing of energy flows between the grid, energy storage, alternative energy, and vehicle charging.
Like all IPS products, the IPS Vehicle Charging Station will integrate IPS’s new GaN switching technology. GaN is more efficient than comparable technology available in the market today. The IPS Vehicle Charging System will also be modular, scalable, and upgradable. This means that, if desired, the Charging System can integrate alternative energy and Battery Energy Storage to improve cost and system efficiency.
Battery Energy Storage can store alternative energy over several hours so that it can discharge quickly to Fast-Charge vehicles. Battery Energy Storage can also store low-cost energy at night and use it to charge vehicles during the day or sell back to the Grid at peak times. The system can utilize any one or more alternative energy or storage module(s). It can also expand or add alternative energy sources or storage as desired by adding new modules.
